Qualifying Standards

NOTICE:  The Men's Track & Field Committee has lowered the qualifying standards in the following events:

  • 5000m to 13:52.00
  • Decathlon to 7700 points

Standards were approved by the Men's and Women's Track & Field Committees at the 2000 USATF Annual Meeting in Albuquerque, N.M. All times listed are FAT. Hand times will be accepted 800m-10,000m. All times submitted to hundredths of a second must be FAT. Marks must be attained on or after Friday May 5, 2000 through Sunday, June 17, 2001. Qualifying marks from indoor competitions must be attained on or after Friday, December 1, 2000. A 3 percent altitude allowance is permitted for track events of 1500m or longer if contested 4000 feet or more above sea level.
