SACRAMENTO, Calif. – Stacy Dragila thrilled a partisan crowd Sunday at the U.S. Olympic Track & Field Trials, breaking her own world record with a clearance of 4.63 meters (15 feet 2.25 inches). Her old mark was 4.62 meters (15-1.75), set in May. Kellie Suttle finished second at 4.43m/14-6.25 and Melissa Mueller was third at 4.33m (14-2.50) to round out the U.S. team that will compete at the first-ever women's pole vault at the Olympics this fall in Sydney, Australia. The 29-year-old Dragila, the reigning world champion in the pole vault, attended high school at Placer High School in Auburn, Calif., roughly 30 miles from Sacramento. Her performance on Sunday gave her her third outdoor world record since last August.
