Anderson was the surprise runner-up in the women's steeplechase at 2006 USA
Outdoors. Anderson worked through the field in the closing laps to catch
everyone but winner Lisa Galaviz, finishing with a new PR of 9:57.98. Anderson
hadn't even expected to make the final...A two-time NCAA Division II champion
(in the steeplechase in 2005 and indoor 5,000m in 2006) Anderson grew up in
Richfield, Ohio. At Central Missouri, she was an MIAA Athlete of the Year and a
conference champion several times over for the Jennies... She volunteers with
the youth choir at First Baptist Church, where she also serves as a volunteer
counselor at Camp Wilderness... Anderson was an active member of the Baptist
Student Union, she also participated in the CMSU Literacy Team a program that
reads to and then donates books to area elementary schools... She was a nominee
for the Charno Award at CMSU for outstanding senior and was named the CMSU
Co-Female Athlete of the Year...Anderson was a four-year letterwinner and
first-team all-conference selection in cross country and track at Revere High
School ... she also lettered in swimming at Revere.
