had a banner 2004 season, highlighted by qualifying for the 2004 U.S. Olympic
team with his runner-up finish at the Olympic Trials in Sacramento.
Unfortunately, a recurring back injury prevented him from obtaining a medal at
the Athens Olympic Games. Ross was a football standout in high school. After an
ankle injury kept him out of basketball as a junior, he joined the track team to
rehabilitate the injury before the next football season, and found instant
success in the hurdles. He won the N.C. state title in his first season.
However, hurdling runs in Ross' family, his father was a hurdler in high school,
and died when Ross was only six. Ross earned his degree in financial management
from Clemson University where he was also a seven-time All-American, Five-Time
ACC Champion and NCAA Champion. Ross moved to Raleigh in 1998 to train
with Terry Reese, who is also coach at North Carolina State University; he
says his training has been focused on improving his technique and being
consistent. He has spent many sessions reviewing the videotape of the 1999 World
Championships in Seville, Spain where he won the bronze medal. There where only
two hurdles standing after the race, as Ross hit eight of them including
completely shattering the tenth. After taking the 2001 season off to get his
business up and running, Ross enjoyed a comeback in 2002, ending the campaign
ranked in the top ten in the world yet again (#8). He was ranked #5 in the world
in 2003, #6 in 2004 and #6 in 1999. Ross is CEO of The Ross Management Group. A
