Career Highlights: 2nd at 2002 USATF Winter Cross Country 4k Champs; 3rd at 2002 USA Indoors 3000m; 1999 NCAA Outdoors 3000m Champion; 1995 USA Juniors 1500m runner-up.
Tollefson, a five-time NCAA champion, made strides in 2002 with a 3rd place finish at the 2002 USA Indoor Championships (9:01.49), a second-place finish at the 2002 U.S. Winter Cross Country 4 km Championships (13:01.0) and a third-place finish at USA Outdoors in the 5,000m for her best season as a professional. Her XC performance qualified her to compete at the World Cross Country Championships in Dublin, Ireland in March. The 1999 NCAA Athlete of the Year, Tollefson set a national high school record with five individual titles in cross country along with a state record of 13 individual state track titles. The Minnesota native recently signed on to training at the newly created Team USA Minnesota Training Center a program started in cooperation with USA Track & Field and Running USA Tollefson, who was training and living in Philadelphia, moved back to the Twin Cities area in May of 2001 she has a degree in Communications.
