Washington and her teammates at South Carolina - Miki Barber, Lisa Barber and Lashinda Demus - may be the future of American quarter-miling. had a tremendous season in 2001, winning her first individual medal at the World University Games in China. Washington also won gold as the second leg of the U.S. 4x400m relay squad. A busy summer for Washington in 2001 culminated at the World University Games. She began her outdoor season as the runner-up at the NCAA Outdoor Championships 400m. She then competed at the USA Outdoor Champs, where she was fourth in the final (51.70) the daughter of an Army drill sergeant who impressed upon her the value of time, Washington is notoriously prompt or 15 minutes early for every practice since she knew she would be competing in track for college, Washington went out for the cheerleading team as a HS senior, making the football and basketball cheer squads says she really enjoyed the experience loves shoe shopping is an exercise science major at South Carolina.
