Career Highlights: 2002 USA Indoor mile champ; 4th in 1500m at 2000 Olympic Trials; 2nd at 2000 & 2001 USA Indoor mile; 5th in 1500m at PAC-10 Outdoor Championships in 1997; 8th in 1500m at NCAA Outdoors in 1997.
Lunn captured his first national title by winning the 2002 USA Indoor mile title in March over U.S. stalwarts Bryan Berryhill (2nd) and Tim Broe (3rd). He enjoyed a breakthrough year in 2000 finishing a surprising 2nd in the mile at the U.S. Indoor Championships and 4th in the 1500m at the U.S. Olympic Trials. After running 3:45s throughout the 1999 season, Lunn served notice of what was to come in 2000 when he ran 3:40 in Canada late in the season. Had the opportunity to make the U.S. Olympic Team by making the Olympic 'A' standard following the Trials. Lunn bettered the standard of 3:36.80 with a PR of 3:36.74 in Zurich, but was bumped off the U.S. roster when his former Stanford teammate Michael Stember, who finished 3rd at the Trials, bettered the standard later in the season. After bettering his PR by 4 seconds in 2000, Lunn is looking to keep improving and qualify for the 2004 Olympics in Athenshe is employed by Merrill Lynch.
