Dixon placed sixth in the 100 meters at the 2008 Olympic Trials in the personal best time of 10.02 seconds, which qualified him for a spot on the Team USA relay pool at the Olympic Games in Beijing. After placing sixth in the opening round of the 100 meters at the 2006 AT&T USA Outdoor Championships, Dixon improved the following year to sixth-place in the final at the USA Nationals, which earned him a spot on the Team USA 4x100m relay pool for the 2007 World Outdoor Championships in Osaka, Japan. Dixon earned his gold medal by running the anchor leg for Team USA carrying the baton across the finish line and stopping the clocks in 37.78 seconds, which was the fastest time in the world in 2007. Dixon set his 100m personal best of 10.07 during a qualifying round at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships in Indianapolis. As a senior sprinter at South Carolina he earned his first All-America certificate by placing ninth at the 2005 NCAA Outdoor Championships. In 2003-04 he competed for Kansas City (Kan.) Community College... was the Junior College national runner-up in the 200 meters with a time of 20.95... coached by Al Hobson... top marks were 6.77 and 21.67 indoors and 10.42 and 20.95 outdoors... also considered LSU, TCU, Florida and Tennessee before signing with the Gamecocks. At LaSalle High School in South Bend, Ind., he lettered in track, basketball, and football... was a three-time state champion...best marks were 10.37w in the 100 and 21.11w in the 200...a Criminal Justice major while at South Carolina.
