As Samuels approaches his junior season at the University of Arkansas he has already made his name known to the sprinting world on a national scene…his fifth-place finish at the 2007 USA Outdoor Championships came against a strong sprinting field, and the recently turned 20-year-old shows no signs of slowing down…In 2005, Samuels was ranked by Track and Field News as the country’s top high school sprinter…Samuels was selected by both Nike/Dyestat and Track and Field News as their Athlete of the Year…Set a national high school record at 100m (10.08) and equaled the junior record held by Justin Gatlin…Samuels owns the sixth-fastest 200m time (20.32) ever run by a U.S. prep athlete…USA Junior National Champion 100m (10.58), Pan-America Junior Champion (10.20) and anchored Team USA’s Pan-American Junior gold winning 4x100m.
