Robinson had her lifetime best performance at the most opportune time when she placed sixth in the women’s 400 meters (51.54) at the 2004 U.S. Olympic Trials in Sacramento. Following her performance, the Team USA coaching staff selected her for a spot on the 4x400m relay pool for the 2004 Olympic Games in Athens. An experienced performer at USA vs. The World at the Penn Relays and other international relay competition, in 2003 Robinson teamed with Me’Lisa Barber, Julian Clay and De’Hashia Trotter to bring Team USA the 4x400m relay gold medal at the 2003 Pan American Games. It was the first time the U.S. women’s 4x400m relay had won Pan Am gold since 1991. As a prep star at Brookhaven HS in Columbus, Ohio, Robinson ranked fifth in the 200m and eighth in the 400m in the national prep charts among all seniors in 1999…a two-time Ohio state 400m champion, Robinson, who also lettered in basketball, was the track team MVP all four seasons of her prep career…graduated high school with a 3.85 grade point average…hobbies include singing, dancing and roller skating…a double psychology and corporate communications major at Texas, Robinson aspires to earn a PhD in psychology or law…she was recognized as a 2001 Arthur Ashe Jr. Sports Scholar, which honors minority student athletes across the nation for their athletic ability, academic excellence and community activism…her superstitions include laying out her entire uniform in the order she will put it on the night before a meet.
