Taylor had a solid season in 2004, clocking her best performances of her career of 53.36 seconds in a runner-up finish at the Olympic Trialsshe became a world-class threat after becoming an Olympic finalist in Athens.Taylor became an NCAA champion and world-class competitor in 2001her success started with a U.S. leading win at the Penn Relays 400mH (56.11) in April and continued two trips to Eugene, Ore., and historic Hayward Field, when Taylor won her first NCAA championship and qualified for her first world team appearancein early June, she won the 400m hurdles at the NCAA Outdoor Championships (55.88) and then followed that performance with a third place finish in the USA Outdoor Championship finals (55.99) a few weeks latera standout at Harvard, Taylor was awarded the 2000-01 Honda Award as the top womens collegiate athlete in the sport of track & field...in her four-year career at Harvard, Taylor won 19 individual/relay Hep titles and owns or shares 10 school recordsshe received her BA in Psychology/Biology in the spring of 2001performs extensive community service and is part of USATFs Be A Champion, programwas named 2004 Visa Humanitarian Athlete of the Year.
