Sua made her second Olympic team after she finished third in the discus at the 2004 Olympic Trialsin 2001, She became the first woman to win U.S. titles in the shot put and discus in the same year since Connie Price-Smith accomplished the feat in 1994in winning the U.S. Outdoor shot put crown in 2001, Sua ended Price-Smith's string of nine titles in a rowshe was U.S. runner-up in the shot put in '02 and '03a multi-sport star in high school competing in basketball, volleyball and softball, Sua was introduced to throwing by her junior high softball coachas a senior, she finished second in balloting for national high school athlete of the year honors and earned scholarship offers in volleyball and softball...her father played football for BYU...in 1997, Sua set four American Junior Records, three in the discus, and she has a habit of hitting big throws often PRs in championship meets: 'In big meets I know I can turn it on. I'm very competitive. Competitions are something I love ...and in the distant future? 'I'm looking forward to throwing for a long time. It has given me a lot of opportunity, not just in my own life. I love track and field, and I just want to spread the news about it'...majored in sociology at UCLA...first name is pronounced 'Say-LA-la.'
