Myers showed in 2006 that he is consistently one of America’s finest middle distance runners with his fourth-place finish at the AT&T USA Indoor Championships and by placing sixth at the AT&T USA Outdoor Championships. Myers enjoyed the best season of his career in 2005, highlighted by his third-place finish at the USA Outdoor Championships and a new 1,500m personal best of 3:34.89. After his performance at the 2005 USA Outdoor Championships, Myers needed to better the "A" qualifying standard of 3:36.20 to cement his place on the Team USA roster for the 2005 World Outdoor Championships in Helsinki, Finland. On Friday, July 22, Myers easily surpassed "A" standard with his 6th place finish (3:34.89) at the Norwich Union British Grand Prix in London. He had a breakthrough performance at the 2004 Olympic Trials when he placed third in the 1,500 meter s with a then personal best time of 3:39.96. The top 3 finish would have qualified him for the U.S. Olympic team, but he was shy of the Olympic standard. Following the U.S. Trials, Myers ran in four races in Europe. His best race was at the Norwich Union Meet in London, where he finished seventh in the mile in a career-best time of 3:53.78, which ranked Myers eighth on the 2004 world mile list. Fellow competitors in the Norwich race included Alan Webb (3:50), the 2004 U.S. Trials champion and Athens Olympian, and Noah Ngeny (3:53), the 2000 Olympic champion in the 1,500m in Sydney, Australia. Myers has joined his brother, Chad, on the Ohio State University track team staff as a volunteer coach. Myers is coached by OSU distance and steeplechase coach Robert Gary, a two-time Olympian… he is the OSU record holder in the indoor mile (3:58.64) and 1,000m (2:23.65)… a two-time All-American at Ohio State. Myers is a two-time Ohio state champion at Fairfield Union high school, who still holds the Ohio state record in the 800-meter run for Division II at 1:52.73, set in 1999...Married Christina in 2004.
