In his 11th attempt to win a USA Outdoor hammer throw title, Freeman was successful at the 2010 USA Outdoor Championships in Des Moines, Iowa. Freeman, who had finished as the runner-up at Nationals twice, and placed third on three occasions, earned the victory by throwing his personal best of 76.51m/251-0. Freeman punched his ticket for a trip to Berlin for the 2009 World Athletics Championships with his runner-up finish at the USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Ore., where his top throw of 74.64m/244-10 was a new personal best and the farthest throw by an American that season. He ended the 2009 campaign ranked #1 in the U.S. in the men’s hammer throw by Track & Field News for the first time in his career.  Freeman had a third place finish at the 2008 Olympic Trials, however he did not have the Olympic qualifying standard which kept him from competing in the Games in Beijing. With his runner-up finishes at the 2005 USA Indoor and Outdoor Championships, Freeman singled himself out as a star of the future in American hammer throwing. Freeman was crowned the 2004 National Champion in the Hammer Throw at the NCAA Championships. His final throw of 70.77m/232-2 earned him the title. Given name is Thomas.
