A national champion from 1999-2001, Rohl won the 2003 U.S. outdoor womens 20 km race walk with an American record on the track, 1 hour 34 minutes, 31.06 secondsback in top form after retiring from pregnancya distance runner prior to her conversion to race walking, Rohl ran 4:21.09 for 1,500m in 1988, 16:49.37 for 5,000m in 1989she also qualified for the 1996 Olympic Trials in the marathon with a 2:48:56 in 1994. Rohl made the switch to walking to rehabilitate an Achilles tendon injury... \husband Mike is a former nationally-ranked walker...Mike became head coach at Mansfield College in Pennsylvania in 2001, Michelle is an assistant coach with the teamhas four children: Molly (born 1990), Sebastian (1993), Ayla (1997)...Gabriel (2002)Rohl gave up an opportunity to compete at the 1999 World Championships in order to stay home with her children...her sister Nancy was an All-America walker for Parkside, and brother John placed 10th in the 1992 Olympic Trials 20k...maiden name is Marter.
