Morrison-Howard became the only two-time American medalist in 100m hurdles at the Olympic Games after winning her second bronze in Athens2003 and 2002 were comeback years for Morrison-Howard, coming off of injuriesin June of 2001 she pulled a hamstring during a meet at Georgia Tech, shortly before the U.S. Outdoor Championships, and she struggled through the remainder of the seasonshe came back to form at the 2002 U.S. Indoor Championships, where she won her fourth U.S. title in the 60m hurdlesconsiders her 2000 Olympic bronze medal a gold-medal performanceshe seriously sprained her ankle in March of that year and was unable to train for one monthbefore the Olympics, she could not get into A races on the Grand Prix circuit...Morrison-Howard is from an athletic family (five brothers and two sisters): her brothers played football, and her sisters and her mother played basketballshe started running track in seventh grade because her cousin, April Graham, had made it look easy and funin her sophomore year, her coach, Ricky Holt, saw her playing around with the hurdles; by the next week she was a confirmed hurdleras a prep, she won four North Carolina state titlesshe graduated from Appalachian State with a B.S. in psychology and a minor in human resources and personnelshe spends her spare time reading and surfing the Internet... is the smallest among world-class hurdlers...when not working out in off season, her weight typically drops to 105...trains in Columbia, S.C. with Allen Johnson...married Josephus Howard in October 2004.
