Career Highlights: 2002 USA marathon champion (2:36:10), 3-time member of U.S. marathon team for IAAF World Championships.

This is Boaz's third appearance at the World Championships. In both of her previous outings, she was the top U.S. finisher, placing 32nd in 2001 and 33rd in a personal best of 2:34:54 in 2003. Boaz earned her ticket to Helsinki last fall when she was the first U.S. finisher, fifth overall at the Twin Cities Marathon in a time of 2:36:08. Boaz won her first U. title at the 2002 Twin Cities Marathon (2:36:10)in 2001, Boaz, a kitchen designer, left her business and Boston to join the Fila Discovery USA program in California, with dramatic results - in April that year, she set a twelve-minute personal record at the Boston Marathon (2:36:45).
