Twin brother of Brent Hauser, who also ran for Stanford...Together they form one of the greatest brother combinations in U.S. distance running history...as a prep, Hausers 5,000 meter time (14:16) was the fastest among American juniors in 1995...finished third in both the 5,000m and 10,000m at the U.S. Junior Championships...two-time competitor at IAAF World Junior Championships...a three-time Foot Locker National High School Cross Country finalist, he placed fourth in that event in 1993...Texas state champion at 3,200 meters in 1994...according to Stanford Website, is considered the best distance runner in Stanford history...placed 2nd at 2000 Olympic Trials in a PR of 13:27.31...holds a B.A. degree in human biology from Stanfordalthough he qualified for both the IAAF World Indoor Championships and the IAAF World Cross Country Championships in 2001, Hauser chose to compete only at World Cross Country where he finished 15th in the 4 km competitiondeveloped tendonitis after 2001 World Cross Country, which affected his performances the entire outdoor seasonmarried former Stanford runner Sally Glynn on September 30, 2001.
