Enjoyed a big season in 2001, finishing as the runner-up in the hammer throw at the 2001 USA Outdoor Championships in Eugene, Oregon, in addition to winning at the Mt. SAC Relays. As a prep, Harvard was a Georgia state regional discus champion as a sophomore and the State and regional champion as a senior. Named Habersham Central High School's Most Valuable Field Athlete as a junior and senior. Played defensive end on Habersham's football team. Majored in environmental economics and management while at the University of Georgia.
