Her full name is Yolanda Nicole Gamble. She began jumping when she entered high school in her hometown of Sumter, South Carolina. She has a degree in exercise and sports science from UNC, where she was a 13 time All-American. Gamble holds the UNC outdoor record with a wind-aided mark of 14.07m/46-2 from winning the 1999 Texas Relays. Currently a volunteer assistant coach at her collegiate alma mater, Gamble also works fulltime as an assistant manager at an athletic shoe store. Gambles best legal jump of 14.05m/46-1.25 came at the 1999 NCAA Indoor Championships when she became the first Carolina woman ever to win an NCAA field event title.
