One of America's outstanding high jumpers, Patterson got his start as a multi-eventer. He enjoyed a banner campaign as a freshman at Toledo, capped by a second-place finish in the decathlon at the 1994 MAC Outdoor Championships (6,617points) also placed second in the high jump with a leap of 7-0.5finished fourth at the 1994 MAC Indoor Invitational in the pentathlon with 3,550 points, and took second in the high jump (6-11)broke the school record in the pentathlon in his first attempt as a collegian at the Michigan Relays where he totaled 3,679 pointsAlways a versatile athlete, Patterson lettered two years in track (high jump PR 6-10) and baseball, and earned three letters in football at Admiral King High School in Lorain, OhioGraduated Magna Cum Laude with a major in Political ScienceFull time stock broker for Paine Webber.
