Keir is an up and coming discus thrower for the U.S. A collegiate standout while at Ohio State University, Keir enjoyed a successful year in 2001, finishing 5th at the 2001 USA Outdoor Championships and 10th at the 2001 World University Games. An outstanding thrower, Keir was tops on the U.S. junior circuit in both the shot put and the discus, finishing as a runner-up in 1997 and 1998 at the discus and also in 1998 in the shot put. Finished 10th at the 1998 World Junior Championships in the discus 2nd at the 1997 Junior Pan-Am Games a physically strong athlete, Keir bench pressed 260 pounds and squatted close to 400 pounds as a high school athlete she holds the Division I Ohio state record in the shot (50-9) and the discus (176-5).
