Career Highlights: 2nd at 2000 Olympic Trials 100m; at 3rd 2001 US Outdoors

Johnson excelled in football, baseball and track in college before moving to California to work with the HSI sprint corps under John Smith in January 1998...showed excellent improvement in 1999 after several sprinting years at the University of North Carolina and announced himself at the 2000 Olympic Trials, where he placed second in the 100m... showed excellent promise in the early 1990s, twice winning the USA Junior championship, also competing twice in the World Junior a prep, Johnson won the Florida State High School 100 and 200 meter titles three consecutive yearswas ranked the #1 high school sprinter in the country in 1991one of the most experienced sprinters on the circuit...graduated UNC with a degree in leisure service recreation administration in May of 1997after graduation, Johnson worked full-time traveling as a bass singer with his church's singing group "ASAP." Nickname is Bullet, has a bullet tattooed on his right shoulderwife Fatima, gave birth to their first child in July 2001.

2001: 3rd at USA Outdoors (10.01w)selected to U.S. 4x100m relay pool for World Outdoor Championships but did not compete due to hamstring injuryranked #8 in world, #4 U.S. by T&FNbest of 10.10 in Stockholm.
