Cobb discovered race walking while a junior at Cedarville College, in Ohio, where she earned a degree in chemistry. A three-time runner-up in the 3 Kilometer Walk at the USA Track & Field Indoor National Championships, Cobb was 6th at the 2001 Goodwill Games and 25th at the 2001 World Championships holds a masters degree in atmospheric science and works full-time as a scientist for the Ball Corporation in Fairborn, Ohio. found time to represent the USA at the 1999 World University Games, fly back to defend her Master's thesis, move to Fairborn, then start work with Ball Corporation, all within one week"There are so many unique and different areas of analysis to delve into", said Cobb about her work at Ball.
