Ross-Schroer began running in the third grade and has been running ever since... she earned five state championships in her home state of Oklahoma. A five-time All-American at Georgetown... it was there she met her husband, Michael Schroer, also a competitive runner... says "running for me is a lifestyle...I run with my heart." Currently a third-year student at the Georgetown School of Medicine, Ross-Schroer took a year off after her second year to train for the 2000 Olympics with the Army's elite World Class Athlete Program. "It was an incredible group effort by my school, for giving me the year off, and my club, for supporting me as I trained." Ross-Schroer finished 5th at the Trials, earning her an alternate spot on the Olympic squad. She plans to continue to train this year to "keep her options open," but will focus completely on medical school this year. Owns two boxers, Maggie and Lieu. Got Lieu, short for Lieutenant (because of her Army affiliation), to feel safe when running on the trails of Washington. Maggie is new to the family, she came after the Olympic Trials.
