Career Highlights: Two-Time Olympian ('96, '00); 10th in 1996 Olympic marathon; 2000 Olympian (did not make 5000m final); 3rd in 1994 New York City marathon; 5th in 10,000 at 1992 World Cup; 8th in 10,000 at 1993 World Champs...16th in 10,000 at 1999 World championships; 1991 World University gold medalist.

In 2000 Lauck turned in one of the most impressive all-around distance performances at the Olympic Trials, trying to make the team in three different events. She ultimately succeeded. Though Lauck placed third at the 2000 U.S. Women's Olympic Marathon Trials in February, she did not qualify for the team for lack of an Olympic 'A' standard qualifying time. At the Olympic Track & Field Trials in July, she was fourth in the 10,000, again just missing a spot. She then placed 5th in the 5000 meters with a PR time of 15:23.71 and was named to U.S. roster for Sydney when 5000m 1st placer Regina Jacobs and 2nd placer Deena Drossin decided to run the 1500m and 10,000 meters, respectively, at the Olympics. Finished 11th (15:47.78) in the opening heat of the 2000 Olympics 5000m. Competed in the 10,000m at the 1999 and 1993 World Championships, during the outdoor season. Lauck in 1996 was the top U.S. finisher in the Olympic marathon, placing 10th... maiden name is Letko.

2000: 11th in 1st round 5000m heat at Olympics (15:47.78)... 3rd in Olympic Marathon Trials (2:36:06) but did not qualify for team due to lack of 'A' standard qualifier... 5th in 5,000 (15:23.71) and 4th in 10,000 (32:01.86) at Olympic Track Trials, both times being season bests...ranked #6 in 5000, #4 in 10,000 and #4 in marathon in U.S. by T&FN... bests of 15:23.71 and 32:01.86.
