Consistently America's fastest 1500m runner, Holman broke the championship jinx in 1999 when he won his first U.S. Outdoor title. He finished 13th at the 1996 Olympic Trials...the son of a Baptist minister and a guidance counselor...went out for cross country as a 5-3/90lb freshman...trained on 35 miles per week in high school...Penn Relays MVP in 1991, splitting 2:51.2, 3:40.0 and 1:47.3 in two days...a consistently fast runner in fast races, Holman has weathered criticism over his performances in tactical championship races...has of late been more prominent in forcing the pace in mid-race...degree in English...a former chairman of USATF's Athletes Advisory Council...is very interested in fiction writing.
