I qualified for nationals every year, indoors and out, in two or three events. We had to do them all, so I never won a national championship. My senior year at nationals, Jackie Joyner-Kersee saw me running to get from one event to another and she said, 'You're going to have to choose one.'...Won the Patterson Medal (senior scholar-athlete award) at North Carolina, the first black woman ever to do so... testing by USATF's hurdle development committee revealed 12.50 potential in the hurdles... says of her future, 'I have a clear vision of what I can do.
