Career Highlights: 3rd at 2001 World Cross Country Trials; 4th at 1997 and '98 USA Champs; NCAA All-American; 1997 U.S. 15k runner-up.

Chisum began running in 8th grade and showed promise early on, running 4:48.2 (1500) and 9:48 (3000) in high school. Her athletic aptitude conflicted with her parents' background no one else in her family ran, her father was a hockey player for Norwich University and her mother figure skated... earned her degree in biology from Princeton, and currently works as a certified therapeutic horseback rider with an organization called Lovelane. The job involves taking special needs children and adults horseback riding: 'It helps us work on so many different aspects of therapy with them, not to mention building their self-esteem.' The work has inspired her to begin work on her masters degree in Occupational Therapy at Boston University... she trains with various runners from her club, Reebok Boston, including former Dartmouth standout Maribel Sanchez...Has found success in road races: 'My coach says I'm more geared toward the roads, but I'm focusing on the track now to work on my speed. Eventually I'll do more roads, and maybe sometime a marathon'...on November 18, 2000, Kristin married Jamie Chisum... her maiden name is Beaney.
