Career Highlights: U.S. marathon record holder; Member of three international teams.

Relatively unknown to Americans due to training and competing in Japan, Morris took the U.S. marathon scene by storm when he finished fourth at the 1999 Chicago Marathon, running an American record 2:09:32. He had trained in Hammatsu, Japan, where he worked for Honda. "Honda allow(ed) me to train hard and not worry financially"puts in 150 mile training weekswas seeded 117th at 1996 U.S. Olympic Marathon Trials and finished 10th (2:16:20): "When I finished 10th at the 1996 Olympic Marathon Trials, I knew then that the 2000 Trials would be my turn." Three-time All-American at Montana grew up in Eagle River, Alaska.

1999: 4th, Chicago Marathon (2:09:32 AR)...won All-Corporate Yamaguchi Half-Marathon in 1:02:00 (fastest American for the year) best of 2:09:32.

1998: 3rd, UPMC/City of Pittsburgh Marathon (USA Championship) best of 2:15:25.

1997: USA Half-Marathon champion 4th, Houston Marathon best of 2:23.10.

1996: 10th in Olympic Trials best of 2:16:20.

1995: 3rd, Las Vegas Half-Marathon (1:01:08)... World Half-Marathon Championships competitor 10th, USA Outdoor Champs 5000m.

1993: Won NCAA Indoors 3000m.
