Career Highlights: 1996 Olympic champion; 1995 World champion; 1993, 1994 U.S. Outdoor champion; 2-time GP Final winner; 1991 World University Games champion.

Adkins started out as a sprinter, but was taught to hurdle by his father, Earl, who was once a hurdler himself. At age 7, Adkins ran for the track club his father organized... and idolized Edwin Mosesran a solid 14.05 for the high hurdles in high school, and led the nation with a 50.71 over the one-lap hurdlesearned an engineering degree at Georgia Tech in 1992 in 1994 he went big-time by running eight sub-48-second races in two monthstrains with Octavius Terry and Angelo Taylorlikes to read and watch movieshas been active in community service, working with youth at a local community center.

1999: With a season hampered by injuries, he finished 7th in semis at USA Outdoors (52.28)ranked #6 in U.S. by T&FNbest of 48.71.
