Steiner Bennett had her best-ever finish at a National Championships this year when she finished as the runner-up in the women's pole vault at the 2008 U.S. Olympic Team Trials and qualified for her first Olympic Team...Steiner claimed the silver medal in the women's pole vault at the 2007 Pan American Games with her clearance of 4.40 meters/14 feet5.25 inches…After transferring to Arkansas from Paradise Valley Community College, Steiner became the first woman in the SEC to clear 13 feet indoors…Steiner enjoys being a leader and mentor to younger athletes and is very involved with USATFs Be A Champion program…Steiner was in training for the 2004 United States Olympic Trials when she received the call to appear on the reality TV show Fear Factor, but asked that she not participate until after she took her chance at the Olympic dream. After a grueling competition to complete four tasks, including eating worm green beans, maggoty mashed potatoes and roach stuffing, Steiner was the winner pocketing the $50,000 prize which helped her pay for her training expenses after graduating from Arkansas, she moved back to her home state of Arizona to train with coach Greg Hull, but now has returned to Arkansas to train with her college coach, Bryan Compton…married former Arizona State pole vaulter Cameron Bennett in January 2008.
