Robertson continued staking his claim as a top American discus throwers with his runner-up finish at the 2008 Olympic Trials and
a spot on the U.S. Olympic Team. Also in 2008, Robertson threw a personal best
of 65.61 meters/215 feet 3 inches in Denton, Texas. He ended the 2008
campaign ranked #2 in the U.S. by Track & Field News, which is the
highest national ranking of his career. Robertson completed his
senior year at Stanford with a runner-up finish at the 2007 NCAA Championships
and a win at the AT&T USA Outdoor Championships. Following two years of placing
third at the NCAA Championships, Robertson finally took the crown in 2005 when he
won the discus with a throw of 61.70m/202-5... After spending his freshman and
sophomore years at Southern Methodist University, Robertson transferred to
Stanford when SMU decided to drop their track and field program...Robertson was
the 2002 USA Junior National champion with a toss of 61.61m/202-1, besting the
runner-up by more than a meter.
