Career Highlights
In their own words...
Running achievement I am most proud of: Both my performances and wins at the 2004 and 2005 Rocky Raccoon 100 Miler. In 2004, I ran the entire race without the aid of a pacer. In 2005, I battled a shin injury and a torn hamstring at Mile 80 and had to take some long walking breaks. Both experiences forced me to dig deep within myself to find out what I was really made of both mentally and physically.
Why I run: Running makes me feel good physically, emotionally and spiritually.
Future Goals: Top 5 womens finish at the Western States 100; Complete four 100 Milers in 2005; Stay healthy and injury free so I can run ultramarathons for many years to come.
Favorite quote: You gain strength, courage and confidence by every experience in which you stop to look fear in the face. Eleanor Roosevelt
Additional comments/thoughts: Little did I know a single dare 5 years ago would lead me to a trail of challenging adventures and ultramarathons.
