In their own words...

Running achievement I am most proud of: Being the 2001 USATF National 50-Mile Trail Champion and winning 18 ultras in 2004, breaking the previous one-year win record of 12.

Why I run: Trail Running is very enjoyable. I see it as the ideal combination of trail hiking and road running. I have thru-hiked the 2160-mile Appalachian National Scenic Trail, 2660-mile Pacific Crest National Scenic Trail, and the 2700-mile Continental Divide National Scenic Trail. Additionally, I have run several road marathons, including Boston, New York, and Greece. Trail running melds the best of both hiking and marathoning, allowing me to see numerous beautiful areas while traveling light.

Future Goals: Keep having fun!

Additional comments/thoughts: When running trails, start off slow and walk the hills. See you out on the trails!
