At the 2008 Olympic Games, Donohue was eighth in heat 2 - by far the most
tactical of the three - in 4:16.05. Donohue was sprinting to the finish when she
knocked elbows with Nancy Langat of Kenya with 50 meters to go, after which she
faded...Donohue qualified for her first Olympic Team after running a
hard-fought race to finish as the runner-up in the women’s 1,500m at the 2008
U.S. Olympic Team Trials…After a standout career competing for the University of North Carolina,
Donohue has established herself as a national name in the 800m and 1,500m. She
finished third in 2007 at the AT&T USA Outdoors Championships in the 1,500m and
6th in 2006 in the 800m. Her 1,500m time of 4:05.55 ran at the KBC Night of
Athletics in Heusden was the top time in America for the 2007 season…Donohue
ended her career with the Tar Heels in 2005 by finishing 4th at the NCAA Outdoor
Championships in the 1,500m and was a NCAA East Regional and ACC Outdoor
champion. She also finished 4th at NCAA Indoors and was the ACC Indoor 800m
champion…In high school, was a two-time National Scholastic Outdoor mile
champion, setting the national high school and meet record of 4:42 in 2001, and
was twice the runner-up in the javelin…named New Jersey Athlete of the Year in
2001…Nike National Indoor mile champion in 2001.
