Brown qualified for the 2005 Team USA World Outdoor Championships roster with his fourth-place finish at the USA Outdoor Championships in Carson, Calif., as winner Allen Johnson had an automatic by to Helsinki as defending world champion. At Helsinki, in his first world championships final, Brown finished an impressive sixth place (13.47) against the world's best 110m hurdlers. A three-time All-American at Ohio State, Brown is now a volunteer assistant coach at OSU with concentration on the Buckeye sprinters. In his senior campaign in 2004, Brown was the NCAA Mideast regional champion in the 110m hurdles and he successfully defended his 2003 Big Ten title at the 2004 league meet. Brown is the Ohio State record holder in both the indoor 60-meter hurdles (7.77) and the outdoor 110m hurdles at (13.39). Brown was an All-American outdoors in 2003 and 2004 and an indoor winner in 2003. He also won the 60m hurdles at the 2003 Big Ten indoor championships and was an all-conference honoree in the 100-meter dash in 2004 and on the 4x100-meter relay team in 2003. Known for his versatility, Brown also excelled in the 200-meter dash as a collegian, qualifying for the 2004 NCAA's in that event as well, but did not compete in order to concentrate on hurdles. A native of Baltimore, Brown won three Maryland state titles in the 110m and 300m hurdles. He held the Maryland state record in the 300m hurdles at the end of his scholastic career and was a national champion in the 60m hurdles. His efforts helped Woodlawn High School to indoor and outdoor state titles in 1998. Brown was a Financial Planning major at Ohio State.
