2009 Missouri Valley High School Grand Prix Championships

The Missouri Valley Association is one of fifty seven (57) Associations nationally that make up the USA Track & Field (USATF), the National Governing Body for our sport. USA Track & Field’s mission is to foster sustained competitive excellence, interest, and participation in the sports of track & field, long distance running, and race walking. On the level of youth track & field, USATF fulfills its mission of fostering sustained competitive excellence by providing competitive opportunities for youth through Association, Region, National and International Championships.

The reorganization of USATF which occurred during the 2008 Annual Meeting in Reno, implemented sweeping structural changes to USATF that, according to the new CEO Doug Logan, has given USATF the tools to reinvent this National Governing Body USATF into a “more responsible, responsive and professional” organization. Through creation of the new Youth Division, USATF formally recognized that our youth programs are the future of our sport. USATF's largest competitive track and field program for youth is the Junior Olympics, where nearly 70,000 youth athletes compete each year in the Track & Field and Cross Country championships. Each year, meets are held at the state, regional and national levels.

The following Youth local, regional, national and international competitions are conducted each year.
