Forika McDougald USATF's largest competitive track and field program for youth is the Junior Olympics, where nearly 70,000 youth athletes compete each year in the Track & Field and Cross Country championships. Each year, meets are held at the state, regional and national levels. Youth compete in age groups. Information is posted on this site as it is available. Youth Athlete of Year information There are many other youth developmental meets held throughout the Missouri Valley region. For a current listing, see the Association's Event Schedule. USATF Missouri Valley offers grants to help meet directors host their own developmental meet for youth. Click here for background on the program, or print the grant application and send it in. On the non-competitive side, USA Track and Field
sponsors the
"Be a
Champion" program, which showcases star athletes speaking with local
schools about the importance of fitness, a healthy lifestyle, living
