2009 Missouri Valley High School Indoor
USATF Grand Prix Championship

The 2009, the Missouri Valley High School Indoor Grand Prix Series culminates with the High School Indoor Grand Prix Championship, February 28, 2009 at the Ahearn Field house at K-State University in Manhattan, Kansas. Along with the Grand Prix High School events, we will conduct pre-high school invitational events. The High Grand Prix Events will be run according to a time designated schedule. The pre-high school invitational events will be conducted on a running schedule.

** K-State's Food Service Department will provide hot meals, including (1) Bar B Q meal deal with a sandwich, drink & cookie; (2) hamburgers, hot dogs and other snacks. You may purchase a $5 or $10 food ticket online. The food ticket will be in your meet package.

A.  Location  - Ahern Field House, K-State University, 1800 College Avenue, Manhattan, Kansas 66502.

B.  STARTING TIME: Field Events – 8:00 a.m. Running - Events – 8:30 a.m.

C.  Entry Fee:  $12.00 per athlete.

D.   Admission Fee:  $3.00. Children under 6 free.

E.   USATF MEMBERSHIP REQUIRED:  To compete in this event, participants must be members of USATF. You may obtain a USATF membership by registering by going to http://www.usatf.org/membership/?sc=TM.

G.  Grade Restrictions:  Only student athletes in grades 9-12 will compete in the High School Grand Prix Championship events.

H.  Middle School Invitational Events:  To accommodate requests for Middle School participation, we have opened the meet to middle school (grades 6-8) athletes to compete in a limited number of events.

I.  Track Surface:  Track is a 200m all weather 6 lane indoor track, with 8 lanes in the middle of the track for the 60m and 60m hurdles. The facility has both a throwing area and two long jump pits.

J.  Awards:

   1) Grand Prix Event Award Winners:The top three highest female and male point scorers in each event will receive awards at the end of the Grand Prix Indoor.

   2) Grand Prix Overall Points Champions: The male and female student athletes with the highest total Grand Prix points will be named the Grand Prix Champions.

   3) Grand Prix Championship Meet Award Winners: The top three highest female and male point finishers in each Grand Prix event at the Grand Prix Championship Meet will receive individual awards.

K.  Grand Prix Scoring System:
   1)  Top Six Finishers In Each Grand Prix Event: The top six competitors in each Grand Prix event will receive points based on their finishing place.


2. Grand Prix Point Scoring: The following Grand Prix points will be awarded for each of the following finishing places:

M. Payments:  Online payment will be by credit or debit cards only.

N. Lodging:  The Meet Hotel is the Courtyard Marriott in Junction City. The Courtyard has provided special room rates of $85 per night. This price will be good until midnight February 17, 2009. Courtyard Marriott is located 310 Hammons Drive, Junction City, Kansas, 1-785-210-1500.

O. Protest  There will be a $75 fee for all protests. Protests must be submitted to the Protest Referee at once and not later than 30 minutes after a result has been announced. The protest fee will be refunded if the protest is upheld.

P. Release & Waiver Form:  Each athlete participating in the Grand Prix Championship meet must bring a signed copy of the Release & Waiver form to compete.
