2012 Border War Challenge Track & Field Meet

The 2012 Border Challenge Track & Field Meet between the Ozark Association and the Missouri Valley Association for Youth, Open and Masters athletes will be held June 9th - 10th, at St. Louis University in St. Louis, Missouri. 2012 will mark the 2nd year of this event.
In addition, 2012 will add Arkansas; Dakota; Oklahoma; Minnesota; Nebraska, Iowa, Illinois, Indiana, Tennessee, and the Colorado Associations are to the Challenge. The Disabled and Youth Division of this competition will be conducted along with the Open & Masters Divisions (scoring by Association). This meet is also serving as the USATF Mid-America Open Track & Field Championship meet (team scoring).

St. Teresa Academy & USATF Missouri Valley Association 2012 Combined Event & Clinic

St. Teresa Academy & USATF Missouri Valley Association will be conducting a triathlon, pentathlon, heptathlon and decathlon clinic and competition that will be open to all athletes within the USATF bantam to young age groups. The Clinic and
Competition will be for athlete with or without experience in any or all of the events.

USATF Open Region Track & Field Championships Announced
May 10th, 2012
USATF will conduct seven open track & field region championships during the first three weeks of June. These championships provide athletes with competitive opportunities to prepare and qualify for the Olympic Team Trials – Track & Field (Eugene, Ore.; June 21 - July 1) and the USATF National Club Track & Field Championships (Omaha, Neb.; July 6-7).
The region championships are open to USATF members who are 14 years and older (women) and 16 years and older (men).
2012 USATF Missouri Valley Association Junior Olympic Track & Field Championships

The Missouri Valley Association Junior Olympic Track and Field Championships will be contested on June 16th and 17th at William Jewell College in Liberty, Missouri.

CLIFF WILEY TRACK CLASSIC

The Cliff Wiley Track Classic meet will take place on May 12, 2012 at Center High School in Kansas City, Missouri. The meet is limited to athletes 14 and under. Trophies will be awarded to the highest scoring girls and boys teams.

1st Annual United Youth Track & Field Clinic and Developmental Meet
April 16th, 2012
Kansas City Elite Competition will host a track and field clinic and developmental meet at Central High School on April 28, 2012. This event is open to all athletes between 5 and 15 years old. Registration will take place on site from 8:00am until 8:45am.

2011 USATF Missouri Valley Association Cross Country Championship: Result & Registration For National Championship

On behalf of the Missouri Valley Association, I would like to express my appreciation to you for attending the 2011 USATF Missouri Valley Association Cross Country Championship at Rim Rock. The Missouri Valley Association conducts these events because you are important to us and we want to make sure we do all we can to give our local youth athletes the opportunity to qualify for the 2011 USATF National Junior Olympic Cross Country Championship, which will be held in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. I have attached for you review a copy of the meet results.
You may declare your intention to enter the National Junior Cross Country Championship by going to http://coachoregistration.com/meet/info/xc_usatfyouth/2011/12-10_USATF_National_Junior_Olympic_Cross_Country_Championships/.
Before you will be able to declare your intentions regarding the National Junior Olympics Championship, the backup information about the recently completed Missouri Valley Association Championship will have to be uploaded on the national site. When that is done, you will be able to enter the meet. I sent the backup materials to the National Management team. The link will be live for Missouri Valley Association athletes to enter the meet as soon as the National Management Team updates the registration page.

Results
Alan Poisner chosen as an Annual Award Winner in Masters Race Walking for 2011.

USATF Missouri Valley Association memeber and been chosen as the recipient of the annual Award Winner in Masters Race Walking.
Alan won the gold medal in the 3k race walk at the USATF Indoor Masters Championship meet in March. He went on to win four more gold medals during the summer season.
In June he won the 1500 meter walk and 5K walk in Houston at the National Senior Games. The next month he came back to win two more events at the World Masters Athletic Championships: 5000 meter walk and 10K walk.
The award presentations will take place on Friday and Saturday, December 2nd and 3rd, at the USATF National Convention in St. Louis.
Missouri Valley Association 2011 Annual Meeting Notice

All are invited to attend the Annual Meeting of the Missouri Valley Association. Annual Committee meeting will begin at 12:30 p.m. If you are interested in joining one of Association’s committees, please choose one of the above committees. The Annual Meeting of the Association will begin at 1:30 p.m.
The Missouri Valley Association will hold its Annual Meeting on Saturday, October 1st at the Office of the Missouri Valley Association, 7001 W. 79th Street, Overland Park, Ks 66204. All members are encouraged to attend and participate.

MEET DIRECTORS ARE ENCOURAGED TO SUBMIT MEET FOR USATF CALENDAR

The 2010 spring and summer track & field season will mark the second year of an
agreement between USATF's Missouri Valley Association and AAU's Missouri Valley
Association to plan and coordinate their respective Championship season. Both organizations
have agreed not to schedule meets that will directly conflict with Missouri Valley
Association Championship and AAU’s Qualifying Meets. The relationship established
between USATF and AAU within the Missouri Valley Association is an extension of
the working relationship that exists between the organizations at the national level.
Meet Director are encouraged to submit your meet for placement on USATF Missouri
Valley Association calendar. However, because of the above agreement, the USATF
Association will only place meets on its schedule that do not conflict with AAU's
Qualifying meets. If you are interested in placing your meet on the Missouri Valley
Association's calendar, Meet Directors must send an e-mail to the Association's
Youth Chair, Forika McDougald, or the Association President, Kenneth D. Ferguson,
requesting that the meet be placed on the schedule. Meets so requested will be placed
on the schedule only if they do not directly conflict with an AAU Qualifying meets
within the Missouri Valley Association.
