USA Track and Field's Missouri Valley Association
youth track and field
championships will be held in Kansas City, Mo. on June 13-14. Athletes
will be competing to advance to the Region 9 championships (Tulsa, Okla. July 10-13) and the Junior Olympic National
Championships (July 22-27 in Omaha, Neb.).

field championships. The meet will be held June 28 at the
Rockhurst High School Stadium in

EMPORIA TRACK CLUB TO HOST DEVELOPMENTAL MEETS
The Emporia Track Club will host developmental track
and field meets for youth on May 27 and June 10 this year. The meets
will be held at Welch Stadium, which has previously hosted NCAA-II
National Championships in 1995, 1999 and 2006.
MEET INFORMATION AND SCHEDULE
COLUMBIA WOMAN NAMED TO USATF HALL OF FAME
Gayle Johnson, 59, of Columbia, Mo., was named to the
USATF Masters Hall of Fame on Dec. 27. Johnson still holds eight U.S.
and one World record of the 14 she set in race walking. She has one
indoor title and 14 outdoor crowns in USATF masters national
championships. She is a five-time
racewalking athlete of the year for F45/F50.
