Course:           Primarily grass, with approximately 200 yards of gravel. The course is challenging with

                        two uphill runs of minor elevation of about 35 meters. The course is set similar to a

                        horseshoe pattern with the start and finish at the same location.

                        Guided course walks on Friday, November 22 from 2:00 p.m. – 5:00 p.m.

Camps:            Camps are allowed along the Northwest corner of the course.


Directions:      From the Airport to the Host Hotel: Exit the Airport via Terminal Road. Turn slight

                        Left onto Airway Blvd (.3 miles). Turn right onto Gateway West access Road (1.2 miles).

                        Stay on Access Road. Hampton Inn on the right (.2 miles) from the Starbucks on the

                        corner of the Gateway and Airway Blvd.


I-10 west to the Chamizal:

Exit at Exit 22B Highway 54 / Alamogordo / Juarez. Stay in the far left lane to Paisano

Drive. Go to the right onto Paisano and you will see the park on your left side. Bowie

High School is to the right of the park.



I-10 east to the Chamizal:

Exit at Exit 22B Highway 54 / Alamogordo / Juarez. Stay in the far right lane to Paisano

Drive. Go to the right onto Paisano and you will see the park on your left side. Bowie

High School is to the right of the park.

at the Hampton Inn & Suites Coaches meeting at 7:00 p.m. in the Texas Room


                        Saturday, November 23, 2013, packet pick-up will be at the Chamizal National Memorial

                        Starting at 7:00 a.m.


                        Course maps will be available through your coaches and at the Hampton Inn & Suites or

                        the Chamizal National Memorial.


Entry Deadline: On-line entry deadline is Midnight (Mountain Standard Time) Tuesday, November 19th.

                        Entries: $15.00 per athlete. Online meet registration through www.CoachO.com


Awards:          Junior Olympic medals will be awarded to the top 30 finishers in each age group. The top

                        five teams in each age group will receive a plaque.


Advancement: The top 30 athletes and top five teams at the Region 10 Championships will qualify for

                        the National Championships. Advancers will go to San Antonio, Texas.

Athlete Check-In: All athletes must report to the staging area (30), thirty minutes before the start of their

            races. Only competing athletes are allowed in this area. Please observe all areas that are

roped off and please obey all course monitor directions.


Bib Numbers: Each athlete will be assigned a bib number at packet pick-up. Athletes in all races will be

Required to wear all of these identifiers to ensure the races are properly scored. Athletes must wear the bib numbers. Replacement Bib numbers may be purchased onsite before each race for $10.00. The bib number must be worn on the front of the athlete’s outer layer of race clothing and cannot be folded or altered in any way. Each number will have a pull tag at the bottom. Do not remove the pull tab on the bottom of the bib or put safety pins through the tab.


Uniforms:        Each competitor on a qualifying team must have a jersey or singlet that is basically identical in color and style to those worn by his/her teammates. The team jersey must be clearly visible throughout the race. This means the team jersey should be worn as the outside layer of clothing if other garments are worn during the race, Athletes who are unattached or who compete for a team not in team competition may wear any apparel as long as it is safe, not offensive, and has the athlete’s bib numbers attached to the outside layer.


Protests:          A protest site will be set up at the meet venue. Protests relating to matters which develop during the conduct of the competition must be made to the Referee at once and not later than 24 hours after a result has been announced. The fee to file a protest is $100.00 dollars. This fee will be returned if the protest is upheld, Please note USATF Rule 119.4 when considering the use of video / photo footage for protests.



& Dressing Facilities: Competitors should arrive at the course wearing running uniforms. Portables restrooms will be located conveniently in the park.


Schedule of Events:    The races will run in the following order. We will also use the rolling schedule.

Schedule time is approximate and is subject to change. Races may begin 15 minutes before or after scheduled start. Official results will be available within 45 minutes after each race and posted at the registration area results bulletin board. The results will also be posted by Monday morning at www.coachO.com under Youth Athletics.
