Executive Office

An Intern in the Executive Office is responsible for the following:

1. Coordinate Project to Establish Guidelines for USATF Relationships with Events

Intern will take lead to convene USATF staff stakeholders to discuss and establish parameters for USATF relationships with key events (national championships, Visa Championships Series, etc.). Among the topics will be:

  • What USATF does/should do for events
  • What events do/should do for USATF
  • What is the best way to communicate with events on this relationship
  • Establish method for post-event review

2. Conduct Legal Research on Drug-Related Jurisdictional Issues

Intern will conduct legal research seeking to identify circumstances in which USATF and/or other sports bodies are subject to multiple sets of rules that may be contradictory.

3. Assist in Research and Writing of USA Track & Fields High Performance Plan

Intern will assist CEO in outlining, researching, and writing USATFs High Performance Plan for presentation to the USOC.

  • Assist in the development of key presentations.
  • Work on sponsorship and marketing projects and campaigns.
  • Aid in special projects.
  • Assist with correspondence, inquiries and office tasks.

Requirements for the position include:

  • Computer proficient, especially in Access, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • An interest in Track & Field and be an energetic self starter
  • Ability to multi-task and adapt to changes

Note: All interns with USA Track & Field receive either a stipend or school credit as well as parking assistance.
