High Performance Programs Coordinator

USA Track & Field (USATF), the National Governing Body for track & field, long distance running, and race walking is seeking a candidate with strong interpersonal and organizational skills to work in our High Performance Department focusing on coaching education, junior national championships, junior international teams, high performance programs, and national championships. USATF is a non-profit Olympic Sports organization based in Indianapolis, Indiana.

The candidate should be hardworking, energetic and detail-oriented and should demonstrate a good understanding of the Olympic Sport movement, especially track & field. This position requires domestic and international travel (including weekends) several times throughout the year.

The candidate will work in the High Performance department under the supervision of the Director of High Performance Programs and will have significant interaction with various other departments and volunteer groups. Duties include:

  • Liaison and administrative support for the Coaching Education Committee
  • Administration of Coaching Education programs including database maintenance, school planning and registration, and customer service
  • Compilation of a monthly coaching education newsletter for students and alumni
  • Coordination with our Elite Athlete Department for team sign-up, travel, housing, uniforms, communications, medical needs, budgeting and financial reporting for USA Junior Team international competitions
  • Coordination of the Junior National Championships with our Events Department
  • In cooperation with the Director of High Performance Programs, provide support for High Performance programs such as athlete and coach summits, sports science projects, and high performance centers.

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree with a minimum of 1-3 years experience in college or high school coaching with program development success or in the Olympic sports movement or related sports environment.
  • Extensive knowledge of Microsoft Office software, especially Word, Excel and Power Point
  • Excellent written, oral and public presentation skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage a number of projects and handle large amounts of quantitative and qualitative data.
  • Demonstrated ability to work long hours. Available for weekday/weekend travel.

Pay Range

Upper twenties to low thirties, commensurate with experience
