RRTC Officer Roles – Vice Chairs

Vice Chair Positions

These positions are appointed by the Chairman of the Road Running Technical Council. The Chairman makes the appointment based upon the person’s previous experiences as a Measurer or preferably a Certifier. The Chairman may also seek a recommendation of others that have served on the Road Running Technical Council. It is most important that a VC has experience with the process of Certification.

The RRTC has two Vice Chairs, who are referred to as Vice Chair East and Vice Chair West.

The Vice Chair East receives Course Certification Documents from the following states’ Regional Certifiers or Final Signatory Measurers:
AL, CT, DE, DC, FL, GA, IL, IN, KY, ME, MD, MA, MI, MS, NH, NJ, NY, NC, OH, PA, RI, SC, TN, VT, VA & WV.

The Vice Chair West receives Course Certification Documents from the following states’ Regional Certifiers or Final Signatory Measurers:
AK, AR, AZ, CA, CO, IA, ID, KS, LA, MN, MO, MT, ND, NM, NV, OK, OR, SD, TX, UT, WA, WI, WY & HI.

Vice Chair Responsibilities

The Vice Chair shall review all certificates submitted by the respective Regional Certifiers, National Certifiers or Final Signatory Measurers. The VC also will review and co-sign the work of new certifiers until they obtain final signatory status.

The VC checks the Certificate and Map for accuracy. When all is verified the VC forwards a copy to the Registrar with the proper fee so the map can be placed on the USATF web site. A VC should file his copy for 10 years.
