Race Walking Committee

The USATF Race Walking Committee is the official governing body of the sport of Race Walking in the United States. Its purpose is to supervise, control, coordinate, and encourage race walking activity for Junior and Open women and men.

To support its mission the Race Walking committee overseas the USA Race Walking Grand Prix - it is a year-long series of competitions through which USATF crowns an overall champion for each competitive year based upon the National Championship schedule of events. In 2008, over $50,000 in prize money was awarded. Races are contested from 1 mile to 50 kilometers for men and women.

Working closely with the Race Walk Committee is The Race Walking Subcommittee of the Masters Track & Field Committee is charged with supervising, controlling, coordinating, and encouraging race walking activity for Masters women and men.
