Masters Track and Field Annual Southwest Region Report, 2008
for the Reno Convention
There are still 3 associations that refuse to have any masters activities.
Southern, Southwestern, Oklahoma, Gulf, and South Texas continue to host championships.
The Region Championship was held at LSU, on June 28, 2008, hosted by the Southern Assoc.
This Association will also host the indoor and outdoor Southwest Region Championships in 2009.
With the new masters chair in the Southern Association we are seeing growth and new activity, which could lead to them hosting a national championship.

The budget was used to support the Region Championship held at LSU, and to replenish medals.
There are surely hundreds if not thousands of facilities that could host an association and region meet.
University of Texas, Texas A&M, LSU, University of Arkansas, University of Oklahoma, Rice University, and TCU among others could host a national meet.
