Masters Annual Reports - Multi-events Committee, 2005
Jeffrey P. Watry, P.E., Engineering Manager
2005 Indoor Hept. was once again held at Carthage College in Kenosha in March. The meet had a total of just fewer than 30 who finished. Our date fro this meet if held at Carthage is tied to the weekend before DIII Nationals. Carthage has a Last Chance meet on Friday; we get the facility on Saturday and Sunday. All the proceeds such as entry fees go to there track program. It is only with this type support, the support from Gill Athletics, Inc., and our relationship with Carthage College, that we could get a first rate facility for two days and afford to still put on these meets. We still have not had anyone else step forward to host this meet.
2005 Indoor Pent. Continues to be part of Indoor Nationals This is the same for the Outdoor Pent.
2005 Outdoor Deca/Hept was held in Cleveland, Ohio. The meet had 30 men finish, 5 women in the Hept. Jeff Gerson and Rex Harvey put on a great meet. Article and results can be found at www.decamouse.com.
With the Support of Gill we held the 3rd annual fall Deca. Had ten entries of which nine finished the second day where heavy rain was present most of the day (thanks to Rita).
The multi budget was used to support the Indoor Hept and Outdoor Deca. Timing, t-shirts, facility, equipment, etc. It will be used to cover part of the cost for sending pole vault poles for the multi-event people over in Spain. Where are waiting for the poles to return to get final cost.
Seattle has stepped in to host the 2006 Decathlon once we were informed that Grass Valley was out of the picture for 2006.
