Community Events
In addition to a week of meetings and social events at its 25th Annual
Meeting, held December 3-7 at the Sheraton Greensboro at Four Seasons, USATF
will also conduct several community and charity-driven programs. Events will
include:
- USATF Blood Drive - Friday, December 5, from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at
the Sheraton Greensboro in Guilford F. Elite track and field athletes will
be on hand to sign autographs. Donors will also be eligible for several
giveaways and door prizes each hour. Event is being coordinated by
Greensboro's American Red Cross chapter.
- Gifts for Kids Toy Drive - USATF teams with FOX8 TV this year to
assist with their Gifts for Kids program. Please consider bringing a new,
unwrapped toy to this year's Annual Meeting (or you can just walk across the
Sheraton's parking lot to the mall and purchase one while in Greensboro!).
The drive is aimed at children ranging from newborn to 18 years old, and is
targeted specifically to the thousands of children who are in foster care
during the holiday season. A drop-off box will be set up near the Expo Area
at USATF's Annual Meeting at the Sheraton Greensboro, December 3-7, to
receive toys or donations to assist Greensboro area youth in having a
happier holiday season.
- Silent Auction - Several special items will be on display and
auctioned off at this year's Annual Meeting. Items will include to
autographed items from our elite athletes, USATF sponsor contributions ...
and much more. Proceeds will benefit local charities and USATF's own grass
roots efforts.
Annual Meeting/Community Morning Runs - beginning Wednesday,
December 3 at 6:30 a.m. Meet in the hotel lobby at this time each morning.
You have three fitness options each morning:
